Fiqh as a science is a broad study which inculcates a set of final conclusions drawn by expert jurists from Shar’i sources pertaining to the conduct of those who have been given the responsibility to execute their duties and rights. During the course of this study students will endeavour to study the Hanfi fiqh through the lens of Nur al-Idah. However, the teacher will provide a detailed commentary from Quduri (Hanafi Fiqh), al-Minhaj (Shafi Fiqh), al-Fiqh al-Maliki (Maliki Fiqh) and Zad al-Mustaqni’ (Hanbali Fiqh). Whilst this module will prepare the student to deal with classical fiqh, the teacher will open a platform for contextual discussions relevant to the day. Students will study Usul al-Fiqh from Islamic Jurisprudence by Nyazee: Legal Rulings, drawing on the principles and legal theory set by both classical and contemporary scholars alike.
