أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا

“And recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style.” [surah muzzammil]

The Qur'an is the word of Allah SWT and the beautiful meaning it carries, with the divine construct it has, cannot be reinvented by the likes of man. Its sublime language makes it unique to any other piece of writing in the entire world and this programme takes its seekers of knowledge on the noble journey of learning how to recite the Holy Qur'an in the correct fashion.

Linguistically the word "Tajweed" means "to master something" and when referring to the Qu'ran it means to master the articulation of the letters of the Qur'an. Not only this, but constantly striving to reach the utmost level of perfection, as the speech of Allah SWT should exceed all other forms of speech and the science of Tajweed contains the rules governing this - an obligation (fardh al-ayn) upon every Muslim.

"...focuses on the quality rather than the quantity of recitation"

Our one-of-a-kind Tajweed programme focuses on the quality rather than the quantity of recitation. Our professional course instructors are trained to ensure students obtain the relevant skill set to enable them to recite the Qur'an in the best manner possible - ensuring they're not committing major mistakes that may alter the meaning of the words and, as they progress, giving them further access to more complex rules.

At Al Miftah, we distinguish ourselves as we understand that correcting Tajweed is in fact a life-long journey. Rather than focusing on the completion of the recitation of the Holy Qur'an in a short period of time, we place special emphasis on ensuring students progressively obtain new skills that they can consistently apply in real life to correct and beautify their recitation. Hence, our Programme does not place a great emphasis on memorising theory but rather the correct articulation of the letters, words and sentences that the Qur'an is composed of.

The Qur'an Unlocked Programme is a unique programme specially devised for part-time students, keeping in mind their busy schedules. The Programme allows the student to have realistic expectations of what is achievable on a weekly, long-term basis under the tutelage of their teachers.
